Description: The postdoc phase is not only a stage full of interesting opportunities and exciting options to advance a career in science, but it may also pose great challenges and necessitate difficult decisions. This talk will give you a deep and personal insight into an individual career path as a postdoc: Which decisions have to be made when, how do you position yourself in a highly competitive international environment and how can you raise appropriate funding for your research? In addition to this, you will have numerous opportunities for mutual exchange and networking with other fellow postdocs from different disciplines and institutions in this talk.
Speaker:
Chandni Natalia Kumar, PhD (LMU) is a biochemist specialized in proteomics application. Her research focuses on Chromatin and Epigenetically changes, novel drug discovery approaches and how the human centromere remains its integrity.
In addition she started as a science communicator with her podcast and YouTube channel “Daily Dose of Honest Science” explaining how our body works on a molecular and physiological level.
Dr. Stefan Pieczonka (TUM) is an analytical food chemist who completed both his studies and doctorate at TUM. His research focuses on the comprehensive molecular analysis of food using high-resolution mass spectrometry techniques to investigate the complex Maillard chemistry involved in food processing and to ensure the reliable authenticity of food products. In his future endeavors, he will investigate the metabolism of wild yeasts at our flagship partner The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.

For this format, there is no selection process and you do not need to inform us if you are unable to participate.
