The Functional Unit 4 - TUM Office for Research and Innovation (TUM ForTe) provides scientists with professional and comprehensive advice on national and international research funding and technology transfer. TUM ForTe is also the first point of contact and central coordination office for all forms of research and business cooperation.
Our National Research Funding Experts offer information on funding opportunities from the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German government, the state of Bavaria and a large number of foundations.
TUM’s International Research Support Team/ the EU Office provides information on EU Research Programs as well as other international funding opportunities. We support research during the application phase (e.g. to form a consortium) and provide strategic advice.
The TUM Talent Factory is the point of contact for talented young researchers and supports research assistants, post-doctoral students and junior research group leaders from Germany and abroad in establishing their academic and scientific careers at TUM.
The team for research and business cooperation supports scientists at TUM in aligning research projects with external research or business partners with the strategic development goals of the university.
The TUM Patent and Licensing team advises scientists on questions of exploitation of their inventions, in particular on patent and licensing matters.
The Entrepreneurship team is dedicated to technology-based, growth-oriented start-ups and advises prospective founders. The TUM start-up consulting service makes a significant contribution to this.
