Webcast "How to Apply for Professorships"

Every scientist who decides to stay in academia sooner or later faces the supposedly most difficult challenge of his or her career: applying for a full professorship. The aim of the webcast is to inform participants in detail about all phases of the appointment process for professorships (focus on Germany) and to give them concrete advice and tips for their application. The webcast first covers the process and formal aspects of the appointment procedure. Subsequently, all necessary application documents (especially CV, cover letter, research and teaching concept) are discussed in detail and partly illustrated with examples. The third part deals with all aspects of the hearing. Participants are informed about the requirements for the interview and the demonstration talk. In addition, the most frequently asked questions in the interview with the selection committee will be discussed.

Trainer: Dr. Dieta Kuchenbrandt studied psychology at the University of Greifswald, spent her postdoctoral period at the Center of Excellence in Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC, University of Bielefeld), and was a visiting professor of social psychology at the University of Osnabrück. She also completed a two-year training in management consulting and coaching (German Academy of Psychology). Today, she is co-owner of schainundkuchenbrandt and dedicates herself as a trainer and coach to the interests and concerns of scientists:inside in science. A special focus of her work is career planning and application for professorships.
