We support TUM Postdocs in selecting suitable national and international funding lines such as the programs of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Research Foundation (DFG) or the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships (MSCA-IF). Our guide "Funding Opportunities for Postdocs" provides a good overview. The funding database Open4Research offers TUM researchers easy access to national and international funding programs.
Based on our extensive experience with funding agencies, we provide feedback on application processes and your draft applications. Please contact us with the appropriate lead time. For questions regarding finances and budget please contact the Third-Party Funding Department of the Finance Division.
Employer Statements ("Arbeitgebererklärung"), which are required e.g. for the submission of DFG projects, are usually signed at TUM by the Dean of the hosting School and the Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation. Please contact the TUM Talent Factory team for the latter signature. For coordination with the Senior Vice President, the application as well as an overview of the requested funds are required. For further statements or letters that may be required from the university for submission, please also contact us in advance.
Please note that external researchers first need the support of a TUM professor in order to take advantage of our support services. An overview of all professors at TUM can be found here.
Our Postdoc Workshops and Talks offer you info sessions on relevant topics in third-party funding as well as individual trainings for grant writing. With our Newsletters you stay informed about current calls for postdocs.
