Description: The postdoc phase is not only a stage full of interesting opportunities and exciting options to advance a career in science, but it may also pose great challenges and necessitate difficult decisions. This talk will give you a deep and personal insight into an individual career path as a postdoc: Which decisions have to be made when, how do you position yourself in a highly competitive international environment and how can you raise appropriate funding for your research? In addition to this, you will have numerous opportunities for mutual exchange and networking with other fellow postdocs from different disciplines and institutions in this talk.
Speakers:
Andrea Schmidts is a physician-scientist trained in hematology and oncology at the University of Freiburg, Germany. She conducted postdoctoral research on adoptive cell therapies at MGH and Harvard Medical School before establishing her Emmy Noether research group at the Technical University of Munich. Her lab investigates cancer cell resistance to cellular immunotherapies, specifically CAR-T cells, and develops strategies to enhance CAR-T cell resilience
Manuel Ibanez, Postdoctoral researcher at TUMCS | Thermodynamics and chemical process engineering
Gerald Sequeira, is a Vehicle Safety Researcher specializing in predictive safety systems, crash detection, and sensor-based innovations. As a project lead at TH Ingolstadt’s CARISSMA and a lecturer in Integrated Vehicle Safety, he drives cutting-edge research in crash severity estimation and environmental sensor-based collision detection. Through his work, he tries to shape the future of safer and smarter mobility.Postdoctoral Researcher at TU Ingolstadt.
