Description: The postdoc phase is not only a stage full of interesting opportunities and exciting options to advance a career in science, but it may also pose great challenges and necessitate difficult decisions. This talk will give you a deep and personal insight into an individual career path as a postdoc: Which decisions have to be made when, how do you position yourself in a highly competitive international environment and how can you raise appropriate funding for your research? In addition to this, you will have numerous opportunities for mutual exchange and networking with other fellow postdocs from different disciplines and institutions in this talk.
Speaker: Maude Giroud is a scientist specializing in molecular biology and adipocyte metabolism. She completed her undergraduate and master's degrees in Montpellier, followed by a PhD in Nice, focusing on microRNA regulation of adipocyte metabolism. After her PhD, Maude did postdoctoral research in Munich with Stephan Herzig and Alexander Bartelt, studying transcription factors and lncRNAs in adipocyte differentiation.
Since 2021, Maude has been working at Boehringer Ingelheim, leading a lab of technicians and PhD students. She also spearheads projects that involve collaboration with experts from various disciplines. Her research focuses on scientific projects related to obesity, aiming to develop innovative treatments.
Registration: The series is open to all postdocs in the Munich area and we do not limit the number of participants. You can register until Tuesday noon before the respective Talk via the registration form and will receive the login data shortly before the talk. For this format, there is no selection process and you do not need to inform us if you are unable to participate.
